Hi,
I have just been given a Peugeot 307SW 1.6HDi SE as a hire car for 4 days. The thing is, I don't know if it is a 90 or 110 and I'd like to know which one it is. Is there any easy ways to tell?
PS I haven't lifeted the bonnet yet so if there is a great big sticker saying 90 or 110 on the rocker cover, I apologise!!!!!

Is the handbook pack in the car?
You can work out which engine is fitted because the 3 digit engine code is part of the cars VIN number.
Look towards the back in the specification part of the handbook & you should find the engine information.
But seeing as its an SE I would guess it would have the 110 bhp lump anyone.

Surely, if it's the 1.6 litre engine it's either 70 or 90 bhp? If it's 110 bhp then it's the 1.9 engine? Or have I got this wrong?

Unfortunately no handbook in the car.
It's a 2006 model so all the 1.6HDi's are either 90 or 110 HP.
From driving it, cruising is OK but pickup on the motorway is a bit slow, so I'm assuming a 90 but If anybody knows a sure way of inding out, please let me know.
Thanks

Post up just the first part of the VIN number & someone will be able to tell you.
Should be something like VF34 then a few letters & numbers ( this is the bit to id the lump ) & then the final 5 / 6 ish numbers are the cars serial number

It may say which engine you've got on a sticker inside the driver's door shut on the B post. Either that or post the prefix of your chassis number.
