New Fuel & Oil Additive - Armitage Shanks {p}
Product I have never seen or heard of on sale today. Something to add to oil and another to put in the fuel tank. Claims up to 21% improvement in fuel consumption, up to 70& reduction in engine wear and up to 80% reduction in pollution. It also " Segregates carbon deposits and limits clogging which is the main cause of wear and decreased performance" - whatever that means

A bit of waffle about tests carried out according to international standards recognised by the automobile industry; "used today by many professionals and private users worldwide". No actual names of organisations who have done tests so I guess it is the usual overhyped stuff @ £24.95 for the 2 bottles. You can get your money back if you aren't satisfied but how are you going to know if it has or hasn't worked - will you be able to locate your segregated carbon deposits?

Details are in an advert in DT Motoring today page M2. I found the following commed on a Rover owner's website, via a Goodle search

January 18th 2005.

Firstly a quick warning - I've just spoken to one of our members who bought a three part fuel system cleaner from QVC - called Asta 3000.

Apparently this stuff has eaten the fuel lines and fuel pump on their P6B. It's obviously vicious enough in content to eat the plastic on fuel lines of classic cars.

I will be doing some enquiries with QVC in an effort to get a disclaimer on it and getting some advice from expert sources on this one.

Just don't go throwing something similar into your tank!

I've sent Tony a copy of the ad. I'll let you know what happens.

The ad looks just like so many others of its ilk. I wouldn't touch the stuff with a bargepole. Perhaps it might be fun to press the manufacturers for more details of "Gold Medal Winner at International Invention Fairs at Brussels, geneva, Milan and Paris" . . . just done that at:
