Still want a new MG ZT V8? - Imagos
Apparently SMC of Slough have the last 3 unregistered MG ZT V8's (Rover 75 derived) left in the country* so if you fancy a stonking Ford powered V8 you know what to do!

Old technology OHV engine and shocking fuel consumption.. who cares?

..and the real beauty the price is just £15995.

If I had the cash i would be there like a shot. BTW I have no connection whatsoever with this garage, just passing on a great oppertunity.!

Only possible issue is that they where manufactured at least 18 months ago.

I think the 18 months is a little optimistic, for 16k you could buy a proper car that is still in production there is a garage in Dresden with a bucket load of every type of MG and ,Rover and all they do is gather dust and rust and have done for the last two years so when these three have gone you will still be able to pick a LHD one.

Probably better to spend £8k ish on one that had done 30k miles in the last two years.

Can think of much better things (cars or not) to spend 16 Grand on.

There's a firm advertising in Classic and Sportscar (can't name them, I lent my copy to another expat) with a whole page of new 'souped up' MGs. One is a world record-breaking ZT estate if I remember rightly. The asking price for one on the page - 'ready to race' - is over 100k pounds.
Will it ever sell?

Makes some sense at 11K. 16K OTT. Need to think about backup, servicing etc. Not many of these were sold so probably poor parts availability.

Most of it's generic ZT or 75, the engine & box are Ford built in their zillions, so no probs with that!.
Almost tempted by a V8 ZT-T, one rolled up at m y Porsche meeting the other week, sounded awesome & owner had no trouble with it

Who did the engine management ?
If it's not Ford then problem diagnosis could be difficult.
Definitely a car to avoid in my book.
