For Sale signs - IanJohnson
Saw a 5 series yesterday with a homemade for sale sign in the window.

Nothing unusual but the sign was in the middle of the windscreen and the car was being driven along the A5.

Was it the driver's way of showing she was a genuine, and not bleached, blonde?

Obviously a suicide blonde - dyed by her own hands?

I can't see a connection between anybody's hair colour and the driving of a BMW down the A5 with a for sale sign on it. Please make my day and enlighten us!

Makes perfect sense,
She put the sign in her field of vision to remind herself that the car was for sale, and therefore to drive as carefully as possible.

Makes perfect sense,.

Her version of a head up display?

Right Barchetta man - that's good as far as it goes! Now get working the the A5, blonde and BMW connection! I think I'll go and finish my OU course on 5 dimensional supersonic fluid flow - it will be easier and more productive!

You're blonde, aren't you?

5 series - type of car bearing for sale sign;
Blonde - hair colour of femal driver;
A5 - road it was seen on.

Just coincidences - not aware of any linkage. But then one dimensional fluid frow was hard enough for me at university.

Anyone else like the motoring content of Sarah Kennedy's blonde joke the othe morning?

I'm always amused that people waste so much space on their signs with the words "FOR SALE". Clearly it is if it's got a notice in the window with a price/phone number on it.

By far the best option would be to have the price and a (mobile) phone number in the largest characters possible and leave the long winded description of the car to the phone call.

So you are suggesting I get my mobile out whilst I am driving to have a chat with another driver, going the same way, about their car. Do you think this is safe and wise?

I read frequently, but only post when I have something useful to say.

How on Earth is he suggesting that? Why would the phone number being in large characters prompt you to ring instantly rather than waiting until you'd stopped?

if you passed the car with this information driven by a blonde bimbo would you not just think hooker?
For Sale signs - Pugugly {P}
The original point being......the sign was in the middle of the back window, which may or may not (but probably) obstructed the driver's rear visibility. Rather than put it to the side it would have obstructed the follwoing driver's view of her barnet, which was blonde and the driver behind would have been ignorant of this. Noce car I was following a solid white 03 one this morning and thinking to myself how much nicer than the current 5 it is. CLassic motor that uniquely looks good in any colour.
For Sale signs - barchettaman
Seconded. I still can´t get used to the new 5-series, particularly with that stupid mini sharkfin-thingy at the back of the roof.
For Sale signs - Pugugly {P}
That's the satnav whatsit.
For Sale signs - barchettaman
Oh, right. Learn something new every day.

What's wrong with the mini sharkfin?

If you were going fast enough* it would help to keep you going in a straight line.

*Mach 2 or 3 at least.
