Had my Accord in for a service a fortnight ago at my local Honda dealership. Very mundane, nothing to report. On my way home yesterday, SWMBO phones me; the garage had left a message for me to phone them pronto. I waited until I got home and listened to the message. It related to 'the wheels we have for you' .
Totally in the dark, I telephone to dealer and gave my name. 'Oh yes sir, when would you like to bring the car in?' Feeling a bit dim, I reply that, unfortunately, I have no idea what they are talking about. After being put on hold, the service receptionist informs me that the alloy wheels have arrived and are ready to be fitted. I plead ignorance once again and tell them I hadn't ordered any alloy wheels.
After being put on hold again, the service receptionist finally informs me that when the car was in for a service, the technician had noticed some corrosion around the centre cap of one of the alloys. As a result, a replacement set of four Epsilon alloys were ordered under warranty. Being fitted tomorrow.
Last night a quick search on the Honda forums revealed that corrosion on these alloys has been a problem. BUT, I hadn't mentioned it when I took the car in.
So, well done to Pentraeth Honda, Llandudno.
Oh, and before anyone appears stating that it is the least you would expect, it made me feel all warm and gooey inside.
So there.

I put wifey's Jazz and daughter's Ibiza in for services recently and, as it happened, they both need small trim parts under warranty (both things I'd reported). Both had to be ordered.
Neither has called back in over a month. I've chased the SEAT dealer twice (as daughter is a teacher, taking the car in needs a bit of planning) but they've never returned calls. I haven't called the Honda dealer as I keep thinking that *surely* they'll call me.
I kind of expected that with SEAT, but I'm disappointed in the Honda dealer. I got a letter from them after the service saying that they'd like me to write 'completely satisified' for every item if I got a survey from Honda. Hmm - completely satisfied with a £210 oil change. Unlikley.

I have just had my Accord serviced and it was typical of a 1st service - basically the only bits were oil and filter plus other sundries and it was £160.
I would have thought the Jazz would have been cheaper than that.

I guess I'm used to it as I also run a Merc and the same thing is £250 for that.
This was the 3rd year service. The first yr one would have been £160 but they did it free due to messing up the vehicle handover when new. They justified the 3rd year bill on the phone by saying it needed a fairly expensive fuel filter changing at 3 yrs, but then it turned out that it didn't. They also use fully synth Castrol SLX which is probably a bit OTT but it stays lovely and clean for a whole year. The service would have been a fair bit more expensive if they'd needed to change the plugs (8 of them) but they omitted that due to low mileage.

just had wife's x type estate delivered back after minor catch replacement on tailgate window...replaced under warranty....garage couldn't have been more helpful
last year a different main dealer replaced the gaiter around the gear lever, because i noticed a small split in it...again couldn't have been more helpful.
i know these things shouldn't be wrong in the first place, but in reality one was minor and the other not the end of the world.
i just like being treated as a human being and having things done when they say they are going to, with calls back if you need it and a number of options, (such as car collection, lift to railway or courtesy car) automatically offered to fit around me, not the other way around.

Good God! I tried to get 2 replacement Civic Type-R alloys under warranty for exactly the same problem but to no avail, and that was 4 different Honda dealers who, i guess, have to remain nameless! So it looks like i'll have to pay for proper refurb treatment.

Yesterday, I paid £125 for my oil service for my BMW at the local BMW dealer (318Ci, 2003) - I never thought I would say this - but, judging by what others are paying for their oil services, BMW servicing is CHEAP!!

It makes a change to hear dealers CAN do something right.
In the late '80s, my uncle had a red Polo Coupe S. When it went in for its first service, the foreman highlighted an issue with the paint. My uncle was sure there was nothing wrong, but the garage was adamant the paint wasn't as it should be, and ordered a full re spray under warranty. Wouldn't happen nowadays, they'd probably say that the paintwork was supposed to fade to pink....

Update. Car in first thing. Offer of courtesy car not needed (the walk did me good). Car ready by lunchtime. Spanking new wheels fitted and car cleaned. I'm one very happy boy.

Incidently, I didn't buy the vehicle from the dealer, but they have serviced it. And, will continue to do so.
