Hi- we're planning on a trip to the Imperial War Museum tomorrow (Sunday), and thinking about driving from Reading in the early-ish morning to a tube station car park, and taking the tube from there. The museum is near Waterloo, Lambeth North, Southwark and Elephant & Castle stations.
Can anyone recommend a particular station to leave the car, or suggest a better idea?
BTW to take the train all the way would be £33 for the 3 of us, and take too long we reckon.
Cheers,
John

cant argue the cost, but a South West trains from reading to waterloo will be much faster and easier.

Thanks- it might have been, but there's a temporary bus service somewhere around Ascot due to engineering works. I just looked it up on theTrainLine.com and it couldn't even find a service!

You can park in and around the streets of the Museum for free on Sundays...obviously check the signs first but not a problem generally...

I didn't realise Hillman supplied the military!

Oh well... thanks for that, but we parked in Hammersmith tube car park (£3.70 for the day) and took the tube, just under £12 for the 3 of us. I'm not used to driving in London so it was a pretty stress-free option; might try on-street parking next time.
Museum is very good BTW.

I was there yesterday too, and thought it was very good... Was only five minutes walk from Lambeth North tube station. Girlfriend went shopping and I did something interesting instead!
