Stone chip removal - barchettaman
Morning all, it´s a sad day at Castello Barchetta as the little blue roadster is about to be sold.

One quick question - can I get some advice about taking out the few stone chips on the bonnet and bumper before the prospective puchaser arrives.

I have the correct Fiat touch-up paint, and assume it would be best not to use the brush in the pot (it´s too big for a fine job). I think someone mentioned using a cocktail stick or a bent paperclip to apply into the paint recess. I have a fine artist´s paintbrush that I can use too.

I would really appreciate any tips on this, as I need to sort it this afternoon.

Thanks in advance,
Barchettaman (soon to be ex-barchettaman, hopefully)

matchstick is good build up in layers rather than a big blob

Use the end that does not have the explosive blob ;-)

Fine bristled artist brush is just the jobbie for touch ups.
Also its a big help to thin the paint down(if you have a few to do) to make the paint run easily.

Cheers for the advice.
The first prospective buyer came & went this afternoon, bizarrely enough more interested in the (hastily repaired) stone chips than the FSH and wad of receipts I had ready.
It was all a bit odd. Having driven 200km from Nuremberg, and having asked me to pay towards the (alleged) ?200 cost of bringing his car salesman friend with him, then started abusing me saying the car was rubbish (it isn´t) and blah blah blah, got back in his car and set off to drive the 200km back to N-burg.

How can people actually sell cars for a living? The whole thing really wound me up. Ah well, his loss I s´pose. Another reason to crack a nice bottle of vin rouge this evening - stress relief.

barchettaman just in case he rings back and asks if its for sale tell him yes but hide the car when he turns up and tell him youve 'just' sold it and he must have passed it up the road .............
this always makes me feel better............

That would be too good for him.

He was also *exceptionally* rude to my wife - who had the baby in the pushchair at the time - which I´m glad she only told me about afterwards (I was bringing the car up from the garage).

I console myself with the fact that he had clearly spent far too much time on the sunbed, his orangey skin pallor matched only by the browny nicotine-stained teeth and 70s porn star moustache.

Ah well - that´s life eh, I´m feeling better already. Ncw, where´s the corkscrew...
