Nope, satnav simply reads and processes information from satellites, it does not broadcast anything. Sorry!

Police advice is to never leave a satnav or the housing mount in the car, as well as remove the telltale ring on the windscreen left by a housing's sucker mount if that is the type used.

it's important not to leave the satnav in the car... as the thieving sods that steal them are using mobile phone bluetooth technology to look for them..... as well as the mounting brackets still in there or the sucker pad marks on the windsreen, as aready advised.

There is no incentive for the manufacturers to have them disabled remotely when you report a theft or have a decent tracing system, as lets face it if one is stolen you'll go and buy another one won't you, so they will have sold you two instead of one.

Same principle as decent car stereos in the 80's. Took 10-15 years for the industry to get its' act together with 'face offs' or stereos incorporated into the dashboard, cos the theft industry generated shed loads more sales.

Tad cynical i'll accept, but true.

because unlike a mobile phone the technology does not support it.
