05 Octavia what mods - bubs800
Hi folks, While most of the UK was watching the Game today I was sitting haggling
to buy a Skoda 1.9 TDI elegence. Needless to say I am now the owner of this nearly
new vehicle, on the test drive I couldnt figure out how to work the vehicles mpg computer.
Anyway the question now is what technical mods would be worth while if any, for fuel/drive
performance, and has anybody had any known problems with theirs.

P.S. While we were in the showroom we looked inside an 18grand Golf and what do you
know the same dash as the octavia......... Badges..... Badges.... We don't need no stinkin badges.....

Nearly new old shape? If so, a VW Passat W8 interior light with illuminated controls and red LED ambient lighting adds a touch of j'ne se qua.

Read the manual! Then don't bother with the MPG trip because this engine will deliver 55mpg all day long. You can remap the ECU but it will almost certainly invalidate the warranty. Enjoy your car.

Get it remapped via the diagnostic port and don't worry about the warranty. Are the dealers really going to refuse a customer waranty work and lose their custom for ever? Had my car rechipped when it was 3 months old, told the dealer and they were'nt bothered.

I know my legal and moral responsability's thanks, had modified policys for 10 years :-)

For what its worth i could fit a set of brake parts manufactured in some 3rd world country made of saw dust and sludge with the stopping capability of a Raleigh Chopper, purchased from a car boot sale with no comebacks from the seller and I would'nt have to inform the insurance company :-( Go figure!
