Z-cars - BazzaBear {P}
I've been wracking my brains trying to remember a detail about Datzun Z-cars, but it's not working and I can't find any info on the 'net, so I wondered if anyone here might know.
I know there was a 'souped-up' version of the 260z and (I think) the 240Z, although it might not have been official. It was called something like the 'super samurai', and had triple Webers amongst other mods.
It had a colour scheme (which sounds vile when described, but actually looked fantastic on the cars) of red on top, brown on the bottom, with a gold line in between.
Can anyone give me any more info, and preferably some decent pictures?
The last time I saw one I must have been about 16, so I'm keen to know whether I still think that colour scheme looks good...

Think the spelling was slightly modified to Super Samuri.
Chap called Spike Greene IIRC was responsible. Was a baby Samuri as well based on a 120Y. Recall seing it at a speed hill climb at a caravan park in St Andrews ~1972.
Google should find pictures.

Superb, thanks very much. I wondered if I was mis-remembering the spelling.

Have only found one picture with the image search, but it looks like I remembered my colour scheme upside down!

Is it wrong of me to really like the pearl and blue stripe one at the top? Born the same year as me too...

Spike Anderson was the guy. Memory failed me. A few pictures out there but nothing about its litle brother so far.

So was the Samuri done un-officially over here then? I wonder how many of them there are, and how much more than the standard ones they go for.

Shoo Samuri was the baby one. Means 'Little Samuri'
If you search under "Spike Anderson" lots of Z sites apear.

Oh dear, saw the title of this thread and instantly the theme tune to the 1960/1970s TV program started going through my head. Probably wont be able to stop it for hours now!
