Do all Ford Focus's consume dipped headlight bulbs voraciously, or is it just mine. I seem to be getting through each side bulb every 3 - 6 months?? Mine is a 2002 (new front) 1.6 Zetec.

My 1989 Focus 1.6 is still on the original bulbs. Do you bang the bonnet down hard?

Sorry - I thought you said head light bulbs, hence the bonnet banging comment. I am still on all the original bulbs, except for 1 tail light.

I check under the bonnet every week, and when shutting, only drop it the last foot.

When you change them, do you wipe off any finger grease afterwards? I know this only really applies to halogen bulbs, but I still use the same practice with all the other bulbs as well.

I make sure that I do not touch the glass and only handle the metal ends when inserting them into the holders.

Also the quality of the bulb may be a factor, some cheaper bulbs may go quicker.
Have you tries something like Osram silverstars or Philips vision plus? As this may help
