Rover 414i Own Service - DaveKent
Now dont laugh... I'm going to attempt my first service on my N reg (96-new shape) Rover 414i.

Someone I know has a pit in their garage and I can use this.

Before I go and get the bits I need could some of you kind souls out there give me a list of everything I need for the engine side of the service. I dont mean tools etc, I mean spark plugs, air filter, oil filter etc... and what else?

Many thanks,

Regards,

Dave

Have a look at your service schedule/history to see what needs doing. You'll definately need an oil filter, but other things such as air filter and plugs will be dependant on when they were last done. Unless you mean it hasn't had a service in 9 years ;-)

Also check if and when coolant was last changed/brake fluid.
How many miles has it done?

Add a workshop manual to the list of bits to obtain, it's a once off purchase well worth making.

So its due for coolant change/brake fluid.would suggest you do change. coolant is a must on this unit.As mjm said manual is a good investment as well..Though it wont answer all your questions
