Early 2.0 DTI diesels drank oil at a prodigeous rate, well over a litre in less than 1k miles.. some were cream crackered by running without oil.

Also check the spare wheel is there, they are in cradle under the back and get nicked. Apart from that it appears to be a solid wagon, no real problems in the fleet I know about.

ive got a 1.6 16v 53 plate and i think its very practical and quite nippy its only a club model but has got most of the gadgets you need, ie e/w, air con, remote locking, e/mirrors, the only downside is that its not as economical as i thought it might be, on a run down the m1 it averages about 38 - 40 mpg at an average of 70 ish. aound town it goes down to 30 - 32 mpg. Ive not had any problems but ive only had it 4 months. I wanted the diesel but for the mileage i do it wasnt worth the extra couple of grand.
