Replacing Air Flow Meter in Octavia - graham sherlock
After the car monitoring system on my Skoda Octavia 2.0 petrol(AQY engine) showed a fault, a dealer pronounced that the air mass meter needs replacing. Having sourced a Bosch replacement, £75 instead of £250+, is this a DIY job, or something that needs to be left to the dealer.

Sorry, just seen the previous subject. Mine still applies..

Simple job- The sensor sits in the intake trunking in its own housing which is secured by clips. Once you have installed it take the car for a run, it should adapt fairly quickly.

I've got the same car with the same engine. Going into a Skoda main dealer in Northamptonshire next week to have the MAF replaced. £75 + vat no labour (goodwill on the labour because they messed me around last time by telling me it was the lambda probe). I'll check whether they've actually fitted a new Bosch part for that price or something else.

Got from www.eurocarparts.co.uk. It's a Bosch unit. I gave all the details, engine type etc, and it came up with two options. Bosch & a pattern unit. I just hope it's right..
