went into my local Jag dealer today:- "sorry sir can't give you a valuation on your Saab, Glass's guide isn't any good these days, we have to phone around for a guranteed price from a Saab dealer"!!!!

What a load of PFD. Dealerships who have a policy of not stocking non-franchise p/ex's phone round the trade to see if they can move your car on to the trade direct and base their offer on that information. I've had it happen to me but they were up front about it.

I think they wanted a firm underwrite on your motor before comitting themselves.
Normal practice these days.
