Ivor's been quiet for a while because he's been busy at work, you see. I work in an engineering company and I was quite slack earlier in the year so could browse the site during the day. Now I'm working on 3 projects that have all gone busy at the same time so I get just a little time at home at evenings and week-ends - oh, and during lunch hour at work sometimes.
Actually, Ivor E Tower was a name I used on another site's forum that I joined some years ago, so I just decided to stick with it on other sites when I joined forums/fora.
My real name is Chris.

Someone once asked rather bizarrely during the foot and mouth crisis whether they could drive into France with a piece of cheese (coals to newcastle?). I offered an ironic reply which I was fairly pleased with until it was trouncd by Toad's suggestion that they should put the cheddar in a condom and swallow it!!

Like many others I suspect in the wonderful/informative/ entertaining/helpful/sometimes enigmatic/always thought provoking backroom, I tend to make assumptions and create mental images as to the characters behind the \'handles\'. Some of the comments made do provide an insight (worrying and perplexing at times) into the personalities behind them.
What particularly interests me are the moderators who are the guardians of our good taste and manners and who are maintaining both the credibility and integrity of our community. Unfortunately adverse good taste and common sense has to be moderated at times to keep us on the straight and narrow.
Certainly what we have is a wealth of knowledge and diverse expertise in our forum and it is with regret that I was unable to attend the recent \'get together\' held darn sarf to meet some of the individuals who contribute to this cyber community.
My username could be argued as sad and pathetic in comparison to some but I am intending to complete the forum profile in the near future and would encourage others to do likewise to remove a lot of the guesswork and speculation. But then...am I missing the point ?
Is this motoring related ? Please don\'t cut me off in my prime DD et al.
