Guys,
any of you know how to change the light bulb that illuminates the heater controls in a 2001MY polo?
I've managed to get all the covers off, and I've un-done all the screws, but can I get to the back of the unit....
(No haynes manual for this MY, the VW EPC tells me the part number, but the diagram is no good, and I don't want to pay VAG £50 to change a £1 bulb.)
Any help appreciated
TIA

FYI,
To change heater illumination bulb:
Remove trim
pull off heater speed knob (centre)
pull out bulb with a bit of tubing
replace components in reverse
10 minutes coz I couldn't find the right tube size
Was it worth spending 18 euros on ERWIN to find this out? With VW rates, probably!

If the car is less than 3 years old then surely it should be covered by warranty?
|
Unfortunately not. My car is 2001MY, registered Sept 00. Bublb went just out of dealer warranty :-(

It's unlikely that a bulb will be covered by warranty anyway.

My girlfriend has had 2 dashboard bulbs replaced under warranty: one a odometer bulb on a 2 year old Peugeot 206 and one a heater panel bulb on a 15 month old Corolla. I think headlight/indicator bulbs are not covered but dashboard ones do seem to be...

Yes, I agree - the bulbs should be covered under warranty....but some manufacturers have certain exclusions/stipulations............
My lips remain sealed.
