Does anyone drive, or have access to, a Fiat Uno 60, Mk2 car with 1108FIRE type engine (blue covers) on a carb, 1989 to 1992 please?
I have a simple question which you may be able to help me with.

I have an 1108cc Fire carb model it was actualy built by Nissan in South Africa, I lived there for a few years and brought it back.
It was built in 1995 but with carb ala 89-92 uk model.
What's your question ?

Hello David, thanks for your reply. If your car has the 1108 FIRE then I will have to assume that it has the same carb as used on the UK models.
Question is, At your convenience, could you please lift the bonnet, stand at your drivers side wing with a torch and tell me what is written on the body of the carb, just below the air cleaner box?
It should say 32TLF ?/251, 32TLF ??/251 or 32TFL ?/252 or something similar to this.

It *may* be the same carb across the world but it is possibly different due to different emmission regs.
In the UK this carb should say 32TLF 27/251.
There are loads in the town scrappers here to look at.

Hi Pete, number on my carb is 32 tlf 27/251 as far as I know this is same as uk specced cars as I bought a uk repair kit some time ago to replace jets accelerator pump diaphragms etc,
SA fuel had alchohol added which eats rubber, all fitted ok and it runs well too.
I am pretty sure the differnce between the 251 and 252 is jet sizes and the 252 is for the 999 fire engine.
I recently had to replace my distributor and have the Marelli
SE101G type fitted you might want to cross refer. If yours is the same then 27/251 should be fine

Thank you very much for the confirmation, 32TLF 27/251 is what I was trying to confirm. My Uno does have that model of distributor so all should be well.

I used to have one of those 60S 1991 - The carb gave me so many problems. I couldn't even get the right repair kit from three different Fiat dealers!
I even got asked to identify the carb that I had on my car after I supplied the dealer my VIN number and engine number!!
If I were you, I would take it to a Weber specialist for a rebuild or replacement. Every garage I went to told me to go to carb specialist.
