New Fiesta 'EAC FAIL' - spot
My '03 Fiesta 1.4 Ghia experiences ignition problems where it doesn't start first time. It doesn't happen all the time but it is very annoying it's been in twice already to my local ford where they updated the engine management software in the car (on both visits). I thought they finally fixed the problem but just recently the problem has come back, this time I noticed the little LCD panels (fuel and mileage) in my dashboard light up flashing and displaying the message EAC FAIL. I've got an appointment next week for my local Ford to take a look at the car....(this will be their 3rd time looking at this problem!). Has any other fiesta owners experienced this also? Is the problem been fixed?! I'll have to wait until next week to hear what Ford have to say to me.

Yo Spot,

Get onto Ford technical (get no. from Ford dealer), explain situation to them, they should be able to give you some sort of answer, you might then direct your dealer in a forward direction.

There were problems like this on early build Fiesta 1.4 and the only person who can fix it is your dealer I'm afraid. They'll probably have to reflash the latest software again.

It is possible, although unlikely, that there is a fault with one of the components but this should show up on a diagnostic check. Let us know if you're 3rd time lucky!
