peugeot 406 1.9 td problem (help!) - leerichmond21
my car management light came on and there was a lack of power and now the power has came back can anyone tell me what the fault could have been?

also my car is turbo seals may have gone i think because the oil level has gone down and there is a drip of oil in the turbo pipe, can anyone tell me if i can get the seals and how much they are?

Regarding the turbo, a coating of oil in air inlet pipes and the intercooler is normal, so if the turbo is spinning and the oil leakage is not clogging things up, I wouldn't worry.
If the unit is knackered, it can't be DIY reconditioned, so you'd have to part-ex it for a new one which would be at least £400 for either a KKK or Garrett.

Oddly enough, I had a look on E-bay this morning and I came across a new 406 turbo up for sale. Listed under the following title.
"406 1.9TD TURBO (BRAND NEW)"

might be worth a bid if you are sure that yours is knackered

LOL! Knowing ebay, it's probably just been taken off a 150,000 mile car and steam cleaned and traded as 'New'!
