Can anyone out there tell me who sang the theme song to the Focus ad where she's driving and he's in the plane ? This is a man's world / thing ??

Great track,but why oh why is there not a law that says stupid lazy ad execs must not ever use great tracks on their silly little ads,cars,KFC,bank loans etc i love the music,but promoting their rubbish products-no thank you.

Not a pop song but my personal favourite was Citroen using Andrew Marvell's poem 'To His Coy Mistress' in advertising for their Xantia. Utterly bizarre.

Have you noticed the change in the other Focus advert-the one where the Focus saves the man by standing in for the lighthouse-early version had the girl soaking the man by driving thro' a puddle as she came back to pick him up-that bit is not there now.

It's an interesting choice of song seeing as the mighty James Brown cites everything man has achieved and then follows it with 'it wouldn't be nothing without a woman or a girl'.
I was speaking to a couple of friends who work in the marketing business mainly adverts. He said that lately adverts knocking men have led to male sales falling, seems we're fed up with having the P taken out of us. He cited the Kelloggs cornflakes caveman advert that negatively impacted sales to men. His firm did the 'Yorkie' ad (It's not for girls) and sales have risen considerably.
I'd noticed they omitted the puddle bit too, I think Ford are worried that they would do the same.

I'm a female in a three female/one male household, you'd think there might be gender wars - but I think that kind of advertising is ridiculous, and it puts me off the products.
Funny and clever is good, making people look dim and stupid on whatever basis is not!
What gets me is not only the Ad Execs who win campaigns on this basis, but the people in charge who approve them. How do they get/keep their jobs???

Frankly the bloke in this add is a plonker. He should have had GPS, a good set of charts, and a good reliable marine diesel engine in the boat. He shouldnt need the Lighthouse. And as for the lighthouse what happened to the standby UPS and generator?
Nicolle would not be sitting out in the cold and rain, she would be driving home to check the life insurance policy!

Is this because if you did this in your own Focus most of the water ends up in the footwell - apparantly a common porblem
