How about Ebay? You can do a customised search to match your vehicle. Then select "completed / sold listings" and see what they fetched when sold. Scroll down and you should go back far enough.

excellent idea but nothing comes up under sold listings as cars are classified and a buyer cant click buy it now.

If someone else is at fault, and you can prove it, their insurance must pay out regardless of whether you're insured or not.

If the car was parked on the public highway, or private land which the public can access, then it should have been insured even if SORN'd - if it was on private land with no public access, how did a hit-and-run occur?

Presumably the OP's car was not on a public road. Surely the party responsible for the crash is to blame and their insurance should pay out. If not, why have it?

If the car was on his drive then his household policy may well provide legal cover for such an incident. That is worth exploring.

Hi. My car wasnt insured because it wasnt being driven. Someone else crashed into it so i am claiming from their insurance company. I was about to go traveling the following week so i didnt have insurance. the car was parked at the end of my street in a lay by type area. i didnt know i needed insurance to park a car? do I? thank you

I still need to get what my car was worth. Its no different to someone crashing into an uninsured house and the home owner claiming from the fault party.
