Dacia Logan MCV UK ? - daveyK_UK
Courier forum one chap wants to order a new Dacia Logan MCV with the £400 LPG option.

No Logan MCV or Logan Stepway advertised on the Dacia UK website as part of the range?

Is this due to shortages of stock or have the pulled it from the UK?

Possibly due to shortages, but also maybe to clear the way for the impending new model?. Quite possible that the chap could find a new, but unregistered example of the current model out of existing dealer stock.

Quite excellent value those dual fuel Logans.

In the unlikely event we replace either of the two present cars one of those would be in the running, some timely rustproofing whilst new and sensible servicing would see many years service.

I often park in our french hypermarket car park on a saturday waiting for MOH.

Where I park, there is a clear view of the Autogas lpg filling tank and pad - separate from the main pumps. I very rarely ever see a customer filling up from the lpg pump, I think I have seen that once or twice in ten years. I have no idea why as lpg is supposed to be very popular here.

The gas converted Duster and Sandero are being promoted here, no mention of the Logan as far as I can see.

I rather like the Logan. A simple, basic and surprisingly spacious estate car for city car money. But I’d still rather have a used Jap estate instead. A cheap used Logan however would be tempting as a workhorse.

I dip in to a Dacia owners forum, and there seems to have been 'official' word from Dacia that there isn't going to be a replacement for the Logan, which would be a shame. Maybe they don't sell enough to justify it? I don't see many round here in Birmingham, and when I've been to the dealer there has never been one in the showroom.

Ours is still going strong. It will be 5 in March and although its only done 15k miles nothing has fallen off and it cleans up nicely, still does mid 40's mpg and is quiet and comfy. I thought about replacing it with a Duster earlier this year, but a Duster is more expensive and not so practical. I'll be keeping it for a few years yet!

I was in Lancashire pre lockdown and the Logan was the taxi of choice,

Likewise, plenty as private hire taxis in and around east London.

A real shame they won’t sell the new replacement model in the UK; never understood why they haven’t made a commercial version as it could very well fill a gap left by the Astra van.

I know an electrician who considered a Duster commercial but was put off by the glass rear windows; despite being tinted, he asked the Renault dealer if steel infill panels could be specified instead of the glazing (a must for security in London) but it’s not an option.

If Dacia got into the commercial game in the UK, there is a serious market opportunity for a budget offering especially as Fiat UK commercial arm seems to have lost interest and no longer push the Fiorino or Doblo (Because of World emissions test changes?).

The famous and bullet proof Fiat 1.4 fire petrol engine is no more since WLTP.

2 interesting articles I have read this evening

New Sandero to be built exclusively in Dacia Morocco plants to keep costs low

Sandero stepway, Logan , Duster and 1 more model TBC to be built in Romania

Reason for delay with new Fiat Commercial models (re-badged Peugeot’s) is due to the EU holding up the PSA Fiat take over on concerns PSA will have too much of the commercial market and push up prices.
Another way to read it is Renault/Dacia and VAG don’t like the idea of PSA having a budget commercial brand
