insurance vs Cat C - HandCart

Quick single query:

If a vehicle is registered as a Cat C (wrote off by insurer as uneconomical to repair, but has been repaired and deemed roadworthy),

will it then cost more to insure than a 'standard intact' example of the same vehicle?

Some insurers will not take on new policies for a written off car.

Plenty on the road so some companies will insure it

You take an added gamble with a cat C or later titled cat S as to whether it has been repaired correctly. The V5 will be endorsed with the stigma of an insurance write off and you may have a problem selling it again! Yes you can get insurance for Cat C there are thousands on the road, their market value however is more doubtful than a Cat D or N.
