Apparently the locals have been complaining about the screaming engines and squealing tyres at Dunsfold where the series is shot. Wonder if they complained about the roaring jet engines when it was occupied by British Aerospace testing Harriers.

Perhaps they are able to distinguish between the defence of the Realm and puerile entertaiment.

Similar situation to that at Croft circuit near where I live. To my certain knowledge there has been motor racing at the circuit for 30 years, yet some misguided locals want to shut it down because of the noise.
Would you move into an area near a motor racing circuit and complain about the noise? Bit like moving next to a sewage works and complaining about the smell. Besides Croft on a classics day produces some of the most delicious noises in the human hearing range. Subjective assessment there.

Dunsfold has been a sleepy place for a while. BAE have been winding it down for years. It must have been a really noisy place in the 60s when they were testing bedframes with huge engines on and harriers tethered to the ground by wires. Anway I suspect a lot have moved in since it went quiete, its a posh area. You can imagine the estate agents patter "Airfield? Noisy? no sir, not been used for years, they are going to make it an area of SSI, really quiete. Then JC and his mates turn up!!!!

Ha Ha! Within a mile of my place there is
a) A racing circuit (killarney)
b) a sewerage works
c) An oil refinery
d) a fertilizer plant. (I love the smell of Urea in the morning)
Not to mention the airport flight path ... or the Nuclear Power Station a few miles up the coast!
