MINI Cooper D - Disable Pedestrian Protection System - simmotech

This feature is the one with the exploding bonnet I believe.

The warning light has come on yet again and I don't want to keep paying £40 to have it reset. (£140 if I went to BMW Mini!)

Does anyone know how the system can be disabled or removed so that warning light disappears for good?

I would not disable something like that, all sorts of moral/insurance/legal liabilities possible if you should injure or worse a pedestrian or cyclist due to the bonnet protection system not doing its job.

Resetting warning lights or clearing fault codes doesn't fix a problem.

You need to probably replace the sensors.
