Car is V reg with only 19000 miles. Turbo boost is pretty non-existent, particularly noticeable changing from 1st to 2nd - unless a lot of revs are used it goes backwards! My friendly mech has covered all of the usual suspects without joy. Has anyone suffered similar problems and is there a 'common' fault that I could look at?

If your friendly mech has really covered all the basics - blocked inlet, airfilter, exhaust crushed, leaking/holed hoses, stuck open wastegate, knackered turbo, etc. Then I think a diesel specialist will be called for. Have you been able to compare it to a known good Nissan 2.0td?

I have an R reg Primera with the same engine, and can confirm that the turbo starts to become effective @ 2000RPM, with max power between 3000 and 4000RPM

Bouncey Have you tried some one like turbo techniques for help ?
