Daca Duster - cant supply parts - adam landstrom

Hello im ne to this forum so just looking for some advice if anyone has any.

I had a accident in my Dacia Duster on 9th September 2016 and my car was taken to the garage that was supplied by my insurers. The garage had most of the work within 2 days of it being in the garage but the car is still their to this date with no date on when it will be returned. This is not down to the garage but down to Dacia not having the part. It is a front bumper that i need and i have contacted Dacia customer service and they have put me as high priority customer. All i get from Dacia is a phone call or text message every couple of weeks telling me that they have no update. The same where my car is have another Dacia Duster waiting for the exact same part that has been there for over 10 months.

Does anyone know what i could do as the car was a year old before i had the bump.

Common issue with Dacias I'm afraid. They're struggling to meet demand (largely why it took so long for them to come to the UK) and many body/trim parts are simply unavailable basically because they're running flat out to build enough cars. Not an excuse though, they should be doing better on this front.

I worked in vehicle component manufacturing for over 30 years.

For many of which we tried to meet demand for parts for our production line for OEM engine builders and also for spares for the aftermarket.

When production was running all hours God sent and still barely keeping up, the key performance measure was units out of the door, bits and pieces for spares got less emphasis, except for VOR orders.

Not defending this but it is what tends to happen.

Scrap yard where the front bumper was undamaged!

There must be write offs as they are a cheap car & writing off must happen all the time!

When the genuine one comes in you can sell this one on.
