Just about to take delivery of an X-Trail, colleague would like to buy similar type of SUV, but wants diesel plus auto (this combination not available in X-Trail, Rav4 CRV etc). Any ideas on the best way out?

I believe the Kia Sorento (with just one 1 \"r\") is available as a diesel auto at prices not dissimilar to the X Trail.

Thanks KB, HJ says "too soon..." in the year book, apart from perhaps badge snobbery do they have any drawbacks? Does anybody have any idea of performance or MPG?

Also, I saw in a current copy of "WHAT MPV & OFF ROADER" a most favourable review - it did very well up against a new Jeep.
