Mercedes CLK230 Komp. Warning Message - maby66
While driving on Saturday an alarm tone and malfunction indicator came up on my year 2000 MB 230 CLK Kompressor.
Indication was BAS - Brake assist with severity 2 and visit workshop advice.
Returned home and message remained in malfunction display.
This morning, no malfunction and no record in the malfunction display.
I have an indicated 6000 miles to next service, which with my current driving profile will not be for some 3-6 months.
Advice please?

Mercedes CLK230 Komp. Warning Message - Marcos{P}
I am currently driving a new E320 Cdi and have had a couple of warning messages come up. It seems that when you remove the key from the ignition the system will reset itself and then re'assess the fault. Most of the times it is simply down to a glitch in the software. If the message keeps coming back after you have turned the car off and waited 5 mins then you have a problem, otherwise it is just a glitch.

This was explained to me by a M.B. technician after my cruise control went into fault and then reset itself when I removed the key.

Hope this helps.

And you paid how much for that 'software' glitch???? I would take it back and demand they fix it!

I would rather sit in comfort and quiet and have a couple of messages come up than sit by the roadside waiting for a breakdown truck!
