Peugeot 206 (2005) 5 door - Central locking - D20616

My Central locking has just ceased to work. When locking the car by key in the drivers or passenger door or by the remote, the boot actuator clicks and a slight noise from both the front door actuators but no locking. The red light on the centre dash illuminates and the eterior flashers illuminate.

When unlocking the car with the key or the remote the same ocuurs as when locking except that the flashers flash.

Using the interior red locking button also produces the same condition as when using the key or the remote.

SO it appears that the system is operating but the actuators are not working although it is clear some signal is being sent to the front door and boot actuators.

I have not gone down the road of reprogramming the control as has been suggested in other posts as feel at this time that the control is sending appropriate signals. Anyway if anyone out the has any suggestions then I would apreciate any input.

Start by doing a battery re-set.Disconnect battery for 5 mins and re-try.

Finally completed the battery disconnect (too much rain and wind today) No change to the situation. I have though seen that the interior lich comes on when trying to lock the vehicle - std I would say. So all is working as per first post. I have also listened carfully to each door when locking/Unlocking and the boot motor is the only actuator audible when trying to lock the car either on the door lock or remote key. All the four access doors I hear nothing. When I switch the ign key to ign on there is a spanner in the dash display and the numbers 11000 - maybe related to the battery disconnect.

Next step would be to check the fuses. There is a fusebox in the engine bay, next to the battery, and one in the cabin under the steering.I would also check the cabin box for any evidence of damp or water ingress.

Okay I see that the spanner and the 11000 is service interval exceeded. i will reset this.

With eagerness all fuses in both locations check and found good. No corrosion or evidence of water/condensation. No change to the situation I am sorry to say.

Well in the absense of any further assistance I have been delving further into this situation. The rear boot solenoid is sounding when I lock the car but as it is already locked than it cannot move further. Whst appears is that the car is not unlocking.

When I lock the car then I hear a solenoid type sound from the area of the BSI. But only the boot solenoid tries to activate. No audible sound from the door actuators. I also see a voltage from one wire that goes to the drivers door actuator (not checked the others) I do not have awiring diagram.

When i try to unlock the car then only the flashers are operating and no clicking sound from the BSI as I get when locking.

I would say that the unlocking signal seems to be missing. Are there any solenoids to check? Are the door actuators connected in series so if one when down then none would operate. However it is the lack of volts at the actuator when unlocking that is of concern .

I have completed a BSI reboot and key program but to no improvement. One day it worked then the next day nothing so the fault is not transitioned from intermittent etc.

Well thats where I am so any ideas would be appreciated.

Could be an internal fault within the bsi.You will need to find somebody with suitable diagnostic equipt to analysis the info and actual data of its operation.

Confirmed fault with BSI. Not sure if will repair as the car not worth that much.

Late model 206's, in good condition, can still command a fair price.

Give BBA reman a call for a price on repair, or just pick up a second hand replacement.
