vectra vvti 1800 2007 - noisey tapets - superad

My vectra has a noise coming from under the bonet that sounds like noisey taper, although I've got no idea what the noise really is. It doesn't get any better when warm. Cars done 50k with full service history. The dealer did oil and filter change when I bought it 6 months so the oil is new and only 3k covered since.

I will take it to my garage in the morning but some prior knowledge is alwayhelpful to save me getting ripped off.

Run an engine flush such as Forte or Wynns, and then change the engine oil and filter. Often cures it.

Thanks I will try that I hope its nothing serious I bought the car for its low miles. I did notice on the service history that its first oil change was at 17k which I think is too long even though its in line with Vauxhalls schedule.

Could be a problem with the vvt system which works on oil pressure via the 2 solenoids ,located on the cylinder head ,behind cam belt.

Had this checked and they think its injector noise. Said not to worry about it most vectras make this noise.

You can hear the injectors ticking as they switch on and off, but they're not usually loud enough to be heard with the bonnet closed. If it is that then you're worrying about nothing. It's perfectly normal.
