Hi ND - not wanting to sidetrack HF's thread but the

point I was making about the process was that I explained

that I had no written proof of the mis-selling from the

outset so if the Ombudsman knew that, why did they make

me go through such a long and frustrating process when they

must have known my complaint wouldn't be upheld for that very

reason ?

Incidentally, we're all aware of the terrible and massive misselling that

went on with regard to pensions etc. and my late wife

was the victim of that too - at the hands of

the same rep. Like most people we relied on the

spoken advice of a trusted advisor who misdescribed the salient features

of the policies we were buying. We did not check

all the detailed legalistc blurb we got after the event !

The companies seek to defend themselves by telling us how complicated

it all is and how well trained and professional their advisors

have to be but then argue that ordinary members of the

pubic can't rely on what their advisors actually SAY and need

themselves to be experts in order to understand all the fine

detail hidden in the depths of the contracts. Quite frankly

it stinks !
