Has anyone tried this product ?

Sounds intriguing - What is it ?

It's a windscreen treatment to help dispel water more quickly. Follw this link :

Ahhh now I understand. I used a product that was supposed to do a similar job some time ago and didn't notice a huge difference to be honest.
Can't speak for this one though so it may be worth a try. I'm sure someone here will know anyway Mike.

Have used something similar called Rain Wizard.
On the windscreen it was rubbish, it certainly made the water bead, but it also made the wipers smear *very* badly.
But, I tried applying it to the side windows, it's great. As soon as I reach 40 mph all of the water just blows off the windows and obviously wiper smearing ain't a problem on the side windows. I think it's only about £8 from Halfords for a bottle of Rain Wizard.

A friend used to sing the praises of Rain-X which sounds similar. I keep meaning to buy a bottle to try it, but never get around to it.
Do these things actually work?

Have also tried Rain-X. It works similar to Rain Wizard but lasts no where near as long.
Try the Rain Wizard, but I'm warning you, try it on side windows first, maybe even one at a time so that you see what it does before coating all your glass in it. And if you put it on the windscreen then yes, at 80 mph you won't even need wipers in the rain :) but in normal driving, I'll bet it smears the screen, just like mine, and my mates car.
If you look for it in Halfords it comes in a bright pink bottle that looks like a certain kind of adult toy. ;) Really it does, go and look at it on the shelf and tell me if it doesn't remind you of the same thing!

Forgot to mention, it's effects last over 6 months...

I have used Rain-x and it seems to last about 4 months before it wears off. The effect is strange but very effective. You have to be very careful to clean the screen properly before you apply it and to really polish the screen once it has been applied.

I use Rain-X on both my cars, it lasts about 4,000 miles. So 6 months on SWMBO's car, and about 2 weeks on mine. I find it's great on the windscreen after about the first 100 miles of rain. It does need to be applied carefully though, following the instructions precisely with regard to letting one coat dry to a haze before applying the second etc. I wouldn't use it on the side windows or mirrors myself though, as I find it tends to make the water "bead" into such small droplets it effectively "mists up" the outside of the glass. Now if I had heated door mirrors it would be a different story...

IMHO - *NEVER* use Rain-X on windscreens - I made the mistake some years ago and regretted it for 6 months until it wore off. It makes the rain bead into tiny droplets and after each wipe smears them over the windscreen - making it virtually opaque !
Needless to say the bottle went in the bin.

I have *never* had a problem with Rain-X which I have used for at least 8 years. I have used it on new cars and old cars, on all windows and door mirrors.
I can only imagine you did not follow the instructions properly or your wiper blades needed replacement.
It is one of the very few "Halfords-type" products I buy over and over again (like Autoglym stuff), not that I use much of it, a bottle seems to last for ages.

You can get that for free - I suspect it's to do with diesel.
