Rover 416i - kat
Hi, hope someone out there can help me! I have recently bought a rover 416i P reg and it has no handbook. I need to to know what type of oil it uses and what the tyre pressures should be (and any other useful information I should probably know)!
Thanks Kat

Or a helpless female? :-)

It's probably worth getting hold of a manual form the dealer (it will have a part number and shouldn't be too expensive) or try a few breakers' yards.

Oh, one more thing... what's the mileage, and when was the cam belt last changed? I don't know the interval but it's typically 70-80k, and usually worth doing a bit sooner.

It's a fairly difficult job, although the part is cheap - but if it fails it usually takes out the whole engine with it. Beyond 80k, the question is not if, but when it will fail.

This applies to any car with a belt (i.e., most), not just the Rover, but a couple of hundred quid now will save you a fortune later on.
