Need to change front discs and pads. As discs have an outer lip it's difficult to extract pads so would normally push in caliper piston with the bleed valve open and brake hose clamped. Just worried now after looking at a VAG diagnostic meter as it stated, amongst other things:-
-" Deactivates and re-activates brake control system - Retracts calipers for brake pad replacement (open and close ) - Advances calipers after servicing to the original position without affecting the current calibration - Initializes the wear indicator if new pads installed"
Question is, can I change the front discs/pads without a meter or must I get this done at the garage with the proper diagnostic equipment? Many thanks
