Cars, like any other complicated product, do occasionally have components that fail prematurely - it's unavoidable even in such things as aircraft and spacecraft - the warranty is there to cover such issues.

As the car was bought knowing it was only a 3-year warranty, compared to the 5 or 7 of some competitors and LR have offered a contribution then I doubt that any better offer will become available.

The cynic in me would say - it's a Land Rover, a brand with a poor reputation for quality and reliability, that's why it's only a 3-year warranty so don't expect it to last as well as a Toyota, Hyundai or Kia.
