The clutch pedal movement on my 1990 205 XLD is quite stiff and heavy.
Does anyone know a way of lubricating it so I don't have to press so hard?

I suspect this is more likely to be the clutch cable than the pedal mechanism. I've had the same problem on a Citroen AX, which shares a lot of oily bits with the 205. New clutch cable fixed the problem at little cost. Don't leave it too long though - half-seized clutch cables have a tendency to snap...
