Any second hand - Chelsea Harbour International Cars in Bracknell - CarUser2006

Hi,

I hope this is not against the policy here, but I am really anxious.
I am looking for a second hand car at the moment.

Around the Bracknell area, when you look for second car adverts, "Chelsea Harbour International Cars" pops up regularly for CHEAPER cars
However, all their descriptions don't have mileage information. Is here anything dodgy here? Has anyone here heard about them and how about their reputation locally?
I am new to Bracknell, and would like to learn more before I go there in person for some test drive.

Thanks for any help.
Tom

No policy in force here that prevents someone asking exactly what you are asking. Some do it the other way round buy a car, find something wrong and then come here asking after the event.

The front page of their website just boasts about the type of finance they can get you even if you've been refused. That coupled with the lack of mileage on each car would make me nervous. That company name isn't registered at Companies House. If there was a car there that I was definitely interested in I'd go and have a look and then compare with others same age and mileage on Autotrader and see if the prices are that good. All the time I'd be careful not to get persuaded to leave a deposit or go for pre-approved finance by pushy sales staff. Not much different to visiting most used car operations to be honest!

For me - Alarm Bells! I have been visiting Bracknell for the last 6 years. I have never seen this firm's premises and never seen them advertising in the 2 free papers that appear each week. Why would anyone use such a pretentious name in what is, to be honest, Berkshire's answer to Corby? Somebody posted what looked like being a bad review on PistonHeads but it was deleted - the first ten words didn't look too favourable. There are hordes of good dealers in Bracknell - are you looking something not very "Mainstream"? What is the relevance of a picture of boats in a marina to a car dealer in Bracknell? Not a lot!

Hi,

Could you suggest some good (honest) 2nd hand dealers in the Bracnell area? I am after a simple run around, "mainstream", not top end ones.

Thanks

If your question is directed at AS the answer is, not really. There are not that many obvious second hand dealers in the area, that I have noted. Get a copy of the local paper or perhaps you could widen your net to include Wokingham, Reading and Slough. There are plenty of main dealers with loads of cars; including Ford, Honda, Mercedes and Kia among others. Big Peugeot dealer in Wokingham (Wokingham Motors) Some 2nd hand dealers in Earley, on the main non-motorway road from Wokingham to Reading.Saw a tasty 320SL along there the other day @ £6000!

Don't know anything about Bracknell or this outfit, but the name does make quite a trendy acronym?

Call your company after a harbour many miles away.

Put a nice glossy photo of said harbour on your website but don't bother to ensure that it is the right way round (actually its reversed).

Clearly proves they are a bunch of muppets.

Two other characters have posted bad news on another website - those have not been deleted. Read and avoid, by the sound of it. Of course it may be just a couple of libellous postings ....

Looks to me simply that they're CFC fans, judging by their logo.

My guess is that their business plan includes a lot of car financing.

Indeed. A company selling finance with cars thrown in for desirability.

Get yourself down to Jemca Toyota Bracknell. You'll get a reliable mainstream car, with at least a one year warranty, likely more as most Toyota's have 5 year warranties, and the likelihood that the reliability of the car will mean you wont have to visit Bracknell again. Win Win.
