Peugeot 207 SW - 40,000 mile service - whats included - llanwrst2

Dear ALL

I'm confused - I rang the main dealership that sold me the car 2 years ago and they say I need a 'B' type service and including all parts labour and VAT it would be £220. 'A' type is 20k miles and 'C' type is 60k miles.

I then rang a local garage that is registered for Peugeot and they say it needs a full service and that would be £317. They say they are normally £100 cheaper than a main dealer and that the other one has it wrong.

Cant see on internet who is right as there is not list of what is included and what is not.

Can you please advise me - Thanks

tina

I'd start by looking at the service guide and the history of services to date.

Then you need to ask both exactly what jobs over and above oil and filter they're quoting for. Quite possible that there's a difference of interpretation over time and mileage related items or that the more expensive quote is picking up optional or advisory items like brake fluid or coolant changes.

Hi - OP here...

The car is 3.5 years old and has done 40k miles - this is a service milestone. I did find an online service book but it was very confusing - it listed all sorts of models and engine sizes and i cant make head nor tail of it. Just wondered if other 207 owners had heard of this A, B & C type service schedule or if its a full major service and any idea of price.

The local garage says he does oil, air filter, brake fluid, pollen filter, spark plugs and 2.5 hours labour.

I will ring tomorrow and ask what the Main dealer includes.

Hi Tina

My previous 207 was a 2008 model and having looked through my paperwork, it does seem to refer to A, (20K) B (40K) and C (60K) services. It was on the 20k service intervals like yours.

I now have a 2011 207 HDI which needs servicing every 12.5k , and I had it serviced just before Christmas at 37.5k miles which is a major service and that cost me £229 at a Family Run Peugeot Main Dealer near my work.

A nearby Peugeot Authorised Repairer (chain dealership who lost the Peugeot Sales Franchise) quoted over £300. Wonder if you may be going getting quotes from the same places?!

It may be worth contacting Peugeot UK Customer Care to clarify what it needs doing, if you're getting conflicting advice? However it would appear what your dealer is telling you seems to be correct.

Good luck

your local garage are replacing everything that needs doing including the brake fluid,,price looks at bit expensive but may depend on where you live,,would hazard a guess that the peugeot dealer will just do a basic oil and filter change for there price,,worth checking just to make sure though,,

Oil, air, fuel and pollen filters plus oil change - £192 at my local indy garage. That was for a diesel, may be different for a petrol. It's an 08 model by the way.
