Vauxhall Astra GTC - Washer jet blocked - Snakey

My rear washer jet seems to be blocked on my 2015 GTC, the fronts work ok and when trying the rear I can hear the noise of the pump working. It used to work until a couple of weeks ago so I'm guessing its blocked.

I've tried cleaning with a pin but to no avail, its not that common a car so no Haynes manual so I'm wondering if anyone here had taken one of these out before? I wonder if it can be removed from the outside or whether all of the bootlid trim needs to come off first.

I have not tried this, but it seems to me you MIGHT get a result (perhaps temporary) by back fushing it with a fine hypodermic syringe. (An insulin syringe has a fine needle).

Snag is that it'll probably re-block again. What tends to happen is that microbes grow on the detergent in old washer fluid (and more so in washing-up detergent if that's been used) to form a sludge, To fix that you might have to disconnect and flush out the whole system path.

Or try your friendly local mechanic with an air line and air gun.

Though if too much oomph is applied it can blow the pipe off!!!

I'd try to get at the jet where the fluid pipe connects to it, take the pipe off and check this delivers fluid when switched on. Check for gunge inside the jet, toothpick or cotton bud should pick it out, then use a fine wire from the outside.

Are you sure that it hasn't frozen up and forced the pipe off somewhere?
