Rover 620 gsi 1994 - rover 620 gsi not starting - KCSRenault

Hello,

I recently went to start my rover 620 which has not been started for a while, changed plugs, fuel etc, car turns over fine but will fire briefly then die. The car runs with easy start sprayed into air intake but as soon as this stops the car dies.

Any ideas, their is fuel up to the the bleed valve on the fuel rail,

Any ideas? thanks

Do you have an injector pulse/ signal?

Hi, You've not said for how long its been standing but the most likely cause is the fuel has 'gone off'. If you fill the tank up with fresh fuel it will most probably be fine.

I dunno...
after it's died,
I'd open a spark plug and see if it reeks of petrol,

if so, prob bad fuel, still running thru

if not, probably fuel problem

Check the fuel pump relay behind the centre console. If you open it up and look very carefully you'll probably see the solder has cracked in a square around one of the terminals on the board. Use a soldering iron and gently re-solder the terminal. If you're not confident to do this then replace the relay.
