Mercedes E350e & Mercedes C350e Saloons - Plug in Petrol hybrids as company cars - JOGON

We've had 3 Toyota Prius over 12 years, and the last was plug in for Company Car Tax efficiency.

They & our other Toyotas have all been excellent, reliable and free of any defect. The Prius has more leg room than Merc E or C class saloons, especially in the rear.

The Financial and Benefit in Kind / Tax aspects are covered by the employer's Lex Fleet web calculators.

But please any experience or views of the Mercedes E & C class saloons generally and the plug in hybrids in particular.

No experience at all, but i have to ask if you considering not another trouble freeToyota, and by inference Lexus hybrid, is because they have made their passenger vehicles shall we say somewhat challenging on the eye is the kindest way i can express it.

At the moment, the Merc plug-in hybrids have very high lease costs, as does the BMW 330e and the Passat GTE plug-in.

I got a 225xe as my new company car in July, and am enjoying it very much. God knows it's not a good-looking car - it looks like a C-Max that's been made over - but it's very nice to drive and the powertrain is brilliantly integrated. Electric driving is fun, and in 'Sport' mode it's surprinsingly quick.

It's saving me £100 per month in BIK tax compared with my previous Volvo V60 (which was one of the lowest BIK rates in its class, as emissions were sub-100g). Lease cost is £270 per month.

For what it's worth, my Mrs went recently from a Lexus IS300h to a C350e. The Lexus was the better car, better hybrid. More economical (by about 10mpg), better built, better engineered and no faff with plugging in. The C350 can't use fast charge points either. The Lexus just worked and was an integrated self contained unit. No contest
