If you like all things mechanical, particularly small engines- there's a guy on YouTube who goes by the name of Mustie1. He (Darren) buys, swaps and repairs all kinds of things including outboards, motorbikes, portable generators etc. His vids tend to be short ( around 15 to 30 mins) and he has a very pleasant none too technical way of explaining what he's doing. I seem to be so addicted that I've managed to get through most of his back catalogue since discovering him a few weeks ago. I have no connection with him - he's in the US and I'm in Bucks, but can seriously recommended giving him a look up. Any other similar recommendations from people gratefully received.

Not that I've looked around for stuff about fixing cars much (why I buy Japanese - not much that goes wrong!), but I like ChrisFix (from the US) - very knowledgable, thorough, seems honest (not sponsored as some are) and the tests and repair videos come across very well, especially for the average Joe in the street. And, unlike many 'internet celebrities', he actually bothers to both read the comments and frequently replies to queries, uses & tests tips and comments in later videos. Most videos are about 5-10 mins long.

I also like another US guy's YouTube videos, an older mechnical of long standing, Scotty Kilmer - his video helped me improve (not completely, but a notceable improvement) my heavier power steering.

No connection (personally or professionally) to either bloke or any of the products they've tested. I may try (if I feel breave enough and I can get all the bits required) Chris' 'permanent fix' for my car's headlights, which over time have fogged up due to oxidisation over its 11 year life.

Just came across a sort-of Aussie equivalent to HJ, John Cadogan though given his 'colourful' use of language and VERY blunt and, dare I say sexist (and perhaps more in my view). To be fair to him, he knows his technical stuff and isn't shy in criticising car firms, though I'm sure VAG lovers (especially one in particular) will hate him given he loathes German makes and VAG in particular. What do you think? No way he get away with this in the UK (he makes Clarkson look like a good little boy) - the manufacturers would never give him any cars to test or just plain sue him for his outspoken comments.
