Just looked up a Nissan Leaf. 100 miles between charges is claimed, with a quick charge point 80% efficiency can be reached in 30 minutes otherwise it's eight hours from a normal socket. Battery packs will last "8 to ten years", how much is a battery pack? What about second hand values?
Ahh, the Nissan Leaf. I had the wonderful pleasure of being stuck behind one the other day. Obviously nearly out of energy and desperately trying to conserve enough to get to a charging point, the man driving it was maxing out at about 35 - on a 60 limit road.
A nice queue of traffic had built up, and, out of sheer frustration at least 2 people did risky overtakes. Now, whilst I can't condone attempting to get past in an unsafe place, I do have some sympathy for the people who did so.
Reminds me of 3 or 4 years ago, when I was heading for London and an Mitsi i-Miev was working it's way up Stokenchurch cutting - at about 40 ! I wonder if they made it, or if they got wiped out by one of the many HGVs ...
