2013 320d xdrive - serviced but no record on idrive - wai kit wong

i just serviced my car with my local garage. but no record of it being serviced on my idrive how come? but the service light is reset already.

By local garage, do you mean local BMW dealer or local small garage?

Any garage can reset the service indicator. The methods for doing so are online, and it's relatively easy to get into the 'hidden menu' to do so.

However, a garage would need to have the BMW-compatible computer (iStar, I think it might be called) to input data onto the service record on the iDrive system.

but they havent done so ... and told me its reset till next time so nothing to worry about ....

It's a complete false economy to service a complex 4wd turbo diesel executive like this at a small garage. They have neither the equipment or the know how to maintain it properly and every penny you save will be lost when you sell it on without a manufacturer service record never mind that you've lost any good will from the firm if anything major fails now. If you can't afford to maintain a car like this properly I'd advise against buying one.
