Dent/paint repair W.Herts - FP

If anyone has any recommendations for a mobile dent-repair and paint touch-up person in the West Herts area I'd be glad to know.

I want to tart up my Focus before getting rid.

Nobody able to help?

I've got a not too badly dented front passenger door and some paint damage. I reckon it's worth spending a bit to get it shifted.

If you sell or part-ex it to a dealer, they will either send it to auction or get it repaired at trade prices, so unlikely to be worth your while in financial terms. Might be worth it if sold privately.

Recently got a new car. Before buying, went down the trade-in route. Offered £300 p/e. Pulled out of that.

Reckoned I could do better in a private sale.

If it's a sub-£1000 car, then don't bother.

When you put it up for sale - and I'd recommend ebay or the like for something at that end of the market - just be totally clear about the damage that there is. People buying a car at that end of the market aren't bothered about perfect alloys and bodywork, it's far more important to them that it works.

Oh, and be realistic with your pricing too. See far too many stupidly priced private sale cars sitting around for months.

It's probably on the £1000 borderline, to be honest. I'll see what I'm quoted - now have a couple of recommendations.

Whatever I do, at least I should be able to improve on the pitiful p/e price I was offered a couple of weeks ago.

HJ values it at £1400, which seems too high to me.

WBAC says £385, which seems too low.
