Yes, your insurance cover will be valid.

Though do bear in mind your car might have been towed away, rather than stolen. You might want to check with the council and the police before reporting it stolen.

Why would illegal parking invalidate your insurance whether stolen or not? Unless there was a specific exclusion in the policy regarding illegal parking, I dont see how this could be the case.

May not invalidate your insurance but would be regarded as an indication of lack of care and therefore punished by a much higher renewal premium.

You are supposed to act responsibly while in charge of your car, if you park illegally insurers may suspect you also speed, run red lights etc etc.

Thanks for your replies.
There is no specific clause in the policy, nothing more than the usual due care line.

Hypothetically - if you had to say you were parked on any of those three options, which would be most frowned upon?

A bit of an unreasonable leap, I would say.

I agree with galileo - to me it would indicate a lack of respect for the law. What may appear minor matters may lead to more flouting of regulations.

Fact is they are all breaking the law.

Hypothetically, they should all carry the death penalty and any dependants and children should be transported to a penal colony since they will probably all be liable to ignore the law to the same extent.

So why not choose a legal place to park like any sane person would do.

A mistake was made. There is no doubt about that.

most 3rd party, is for 3rd party, fire and theft. So if oyu have that then you are covered no matter where you park, however

Your insurance will refuse to pay out if ...

1 .. You do not secure the car, ie leave the keys in the ignition.

2 You dont lock the door

3 .. You only have 3rd part ( and yes it does exist ) without the fire and theft.
