I work in a service dept of a large dealer as the workshop controller and I see more and more cases of people buying cars from garages all over the country then bringing them into us with lots of faults, because they saw it on "the internet" it seems that a lot of people have lost their common sense. You should only buy a car from a garage that you know and is nearby so you take it back if there is a problem.
We had someone this week with a vehicle that they had brought from a garage in London over 100 miles away and the car should have been scrapped. We did a report for the owner (FOC) to help her get her money back and I got a call from the trader making threats so you know what he is like.
So only buy from a good local garage. Be warned.
