BMW 320i GT - Tailgate creaking when opening or closing - Redcar01

BMW 320 GT tailgate creaking when opening or closing, just started last week or so. can it be greased or oiled its getting noisy

Is it coming from the hinges or the pistons ?

Is the car still under BMW warranty ?

not quite sure if it piston or hinges i will try to check, yes under BMW extended warranty

Sounds like the hinges squeaking

Isn't lubricating hinges part of the BMW service schedule?

I'd be more inclined to suspect the hydraulic motor rams than the hinges.

whats the price of a piston for the tailgate,do you change both at the same time and would ut be covered under bmw extended warranty

Read the terms in your warranty. I'd imagine it would be covered, the BMW extended warranty is pretty thorough.

A to prices, I suspect you'd need to ask a dealer. You could ask them the same time as you mention the problem.

Typical , as i'm ready to book it into BMW dealer to have a look at it, it stops being creaky and noisy
